Picture Framing Options
Shadow & Float Mounting
Float mounting is when an artwork sits on top of a mount. Shadow mounting is when an image is floating seamlessly, to create a shadow underneath the artwork. The artwork does not touch the glass and is set back 1cm-2.5cm away, with a slip.
Window Mounting/border
Window mounting, is the opposite of float mounting. Here the artwork sits underneath a mount and a border with a window/aperture is created allowing the artwork to have its own opening.
Glass
Regular float glass (left) the standard glass offering reflection. Non-Reflect glass which offers a diffused look. Art glass (right) which offers supreme Clarity, Anti-reflective & UV block, without a diffused look.
Stretching
Stretching involves stretching a typically rolled canvas onto a wooden frame to remove ripples and give a stretched look.
Tray Frames
A tray frame houses a canvas giving it a complete look. They will typically sit inside of the tray frame and have a cm of breathing space minimum.
Objects
We can frame anything at Mimi V Artworks, including many objects from shells, rings, spears, football tops, and many other non flat sentimental items.
